Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Coding Tutor to support students in developing their programming skills. The successful candidate will work with learners of various ages and backgrounds, fostering a positive learning environment. This role offers an opportunity to inspire students, enhance their understanding of coding concepts, and build confidence in their abilities. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about education and technology.

Duties

Deliver engaging coding lessons tailored to the individual needs of students, including those with special educational requirements
Assist learners in understanding fundamental programming concepts and problem-solving techniques
Prepare lesson plans and educational materials to facilitate effective learning sessions
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
Support students working with children by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment
Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and areas for development
Collaborate with parents or guardians where appropriate to discuss student progress and goals

Skills

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in coding or computer science
Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts in an accessible manner
Experience working with children or individuals requiring special education support is highly desirable
Ability to motivate and engage learners of diverse ages and backgrounds
Organised, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
Knowledge of various programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scratch is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills to plan lessons effectively and track student progress
