Full job description

Job Overview
As a Deli Associate, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality food products. You will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, ensuring cleanliness in the deli area, and assisting customers with their orders. Your culinary skills and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of deli items, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches.
Ensure all food items are prepared in accordance with food safety guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including equipment and utensils.
Assist customers by taking orders, providing recommendations, and upselling products when appropriate.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques with a strong understanding of food safety practices.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable.
Ability to serve customers effectively while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during peak hours.
Culinary experience is an advantage, particularly in a deli or similar setting.
