Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Packer to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in materials handling, warehouse management systems, and shipping & receiving procedures within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Carefully select and pack items according to order specifications, maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality control
- Handle materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, update stock records, and manage order processing
- Assist with stock replenishment by stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Participate in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all goods are correctly labelled and documented
- Conduct regular quality checks on packed items to prevent defects or damages before dispatch
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily packing targets and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehousing, picking & packing, or related roles is preferred
- Knowledge of materials handling procedures and mechanical knowledge beneficial for operating equipment such as forklifts
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping & receiving processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control tasks
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks including load & unload activities
- Previous experience in warehouse management or stock control is advantageous but not essential
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £12.71 per hour
