Role Overview
The Sales Ledger Administrator is responsible for managing customer accounts and ensuring the accurate processing of proforma invoices and payments.
This role plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting credit control, and strengthening customer relationships, while contributing to effective financial control across the business.
Responsibilities
- Sales Ledger & Invoicing
- Raise and process customer proforma invoices accurately and within required timeframes
Credit Control
- Liaise with customers to resolve payment or invoice queries efficiently
Allocation & Reconciliation
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure all receipts are posted accurately and in a timely manner
- Support internal and external audits as required
- Produce reports
Communication & Coordination
- Work closely with internal departments to support the resolution of account issues
- Maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring timely payment collection
- Communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and customers
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Carry out ad hoc duties as required
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a sales ledger or similar finance role
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
Desirable
- Experience in a manufacturing or high-volume environment
- Knowledge of accounting/ERP systems
