About the role
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of coordinating local transport commissioning arrangements for Northamptonshire Children’s Trust (NCT). You’ll provide essential administrative support to ensure that children, young people, and their families receive the right transport services at the right time.
You’ll work closely with front‑line teams, the Children in Care (CIC) Health Team, transport planners, and colleagues across NCT helping to keep operations running smoothly and ensuring that all data is accurate, up‑to‑date and compliant with policy.
This is a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment where your organisation, accuracy and ability to communicate clearly will make a real difference. With flexible working arrangements, including the ability to work from home for most of the week—you’ll have the space to manage your time effectively while helping to deliver vital services across Northamptonshire.
This is a 12 month maternity cover opportunity

This is an 10 month fixed term contract until end May 2027.
What will you be doing?
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

Handle incoming transport referrals, logging and coordinating each request while ensuring children’s needs and resource availability are carefully matched.

Maintain, update and quality‑assure multiple transport databases, ensuring all information is accurate, current and compliant.

Work closely with North and West transport planners—checking applications, following up on missing details, ensuring best value for money and supporting case allocation.

Provide administrative support for transport brokerage for Children in Care and their families.

Support colleagues across the service—including the CIC Health Team—helping maintain continuity during absences.

Produce accurate data and performance information to support reporting and decision‑making.

Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external local authorities.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team where your proactive approach and willingness to learn new systems (such as Liquid Logic or ADAMS) will be supported throughout your induction and beyond.

Enjoying the coordination of information, you support colleagues effectively and help ensure processes run smoothly.
With strong literacy and numeracy skills, you also bring experience working with databases and the confidence to create queries or use formulas to extract and analyse information.
Proficiency across Microsoft applications—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams—allows you to work efficiently and professionally.
Demonstrating strong organisational skills, you’re able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage a high volume workload.
