We are seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive Minibus Driver & Transport Coordinator to oversee the smooth operation of the school’s transport services while driving a scheduled morning minibus route.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong coordination skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage day-to-day transport logistics in a busy school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Coordination

Drive the school minibus on a scheduled morning route.
Coordinate daily transport services, routes, and schedules.
Maintain accurate records of vetted drivers and transport documentation.
Liaise with drivers, parents, and external transport providers regarding services and queries.
Arrange cover for driver absences to ensure continuity of service.
Coordinate coach transport requirements for school trips and events.
Manage unexpected transport issues and implement contingency arrangements when required.

Health & Safety

Carry out routine vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
Ensure minibuses are clean, safe, fuelled, and well maintained.
Monitor vehicle equipment and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Support breakdown procedures and alternative transport arrangements where necessary.
Maintain compliance with all driver safety and medical requirements.

Administration & Compliance

Complete and monitor journey check sheets, mileage logs, and driver records.
Ensure all drivers maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
Complete MIDAS minibus driver training and refresher training every two years.

About You

The successful candidate will:

Be organised, dependable, and able to prioritise effectively.
Have excellent communication and coordination skills.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and health & safety.
Be confident dealing with operational issues calmly and efficiently.
Hold a clean and appropriate driving licence (D1) for minibus driving.
