Queensway Hospital is a Mental Health service in association with the Ellern Mede Group
We provide individualised, person-centred care for our patients. Our multidisciplinary team (MDT) collaborates with patients, families, and professionals to enhance mental health and wellbeing. Care is delivered across the spacious Elizabeth Ward, with Elizabeth Lower downstairs and Elizabeth Upper upstairs.

Queensway Hospital is employing a dietetic assistant to work alongside and under the direction of their specialist eating disorder dietitian.
As a dietetic assistant at Queensway Hospital you will ensure that patients are following their correct diet plan and are drinking an appropriate amount of fluid. You will advise patients and parents on choosing suitable meals and snacks and liaise with nurses about patients' weight and dietary compliance.
1. To support the delivery and development of dietetics within the team
2. To support Ellern Mede multi-disciplinary team as required
3. Editing, Printing, handing out and retrieving patient’s weekly menus
4. To provide support to patients who are unable to complete their menus appropriately.
5. Managing weight charts and weight graphs and inputting the information into MDT care notes
6. Leading diet related activities like social snack, social lunch, and breakfast club (with support from the dietitian)
7. Handing over all interactions with patients to the dietitian and writing reports in care notes about
8. To have a highly flexible approach to work with a range eating disorder presentation.
To apply for dietetic assistant, Ellern Mede are looking for motivation, enthusiasm, and personal qualities such as a mature and caring attitude, rather than academic qualifications. A good knowledge of healthy eating and nutrition will be advantage but not essential. The successful candidate will have a highly flexible approach to work and a keen willingness to learn.
A generally good education with numeracy and literacy is needed, as most tasks will involve some sort of paperwork / mathematical calculations.
Evidence of work experience or voluntary work in a related area can be very beneficial.
