Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culin[ry team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff with various tasks, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals who have a passion for food and cooking, and who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Please note: This role is for 2 - 3 days per week

Duties

Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with serving as needed.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene at all times.
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Assist with kitchen duties such as removal of rubbish and washing dishes

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant is highly desirable.
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential.
Experience in catering or meal preparation will be an advantage.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting.
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques is crucial.
Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
