About us

The Towers Active Learning Centre is set in the heart of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). The Towers ALC is an Outdoor Education centre inviting up to 90 students at a time to take part in our exciting adventures in the stunning natural environment. Our aim is to provide a high quality experience across the board, from activities, to kit, to accommodation and of course the food.

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a keen eye for food safety and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, menu development, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and service are maintained at all times.

Duties:

Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
Manage food preparation processes, including cooking, plating, and portion control
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste
Train and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development within the team
Coordinate with managerial staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety guidelines

Skills

Proven experience within a busy culinary environment
Extensive food production and preparation skills across a variety of cuisines
Strong team player capabilities
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Exceptional cooking skills with a flair for presentation and innovation
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with staff and management
Demonstrated ability in food service operations including serving and customer interaction

This role is ideal for a dedicated culinary professional eager to assist the centre with moving forward while delivering high quality experiences. Applicants should possess a passion for excellence in every aspect of kitchen management.

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
