Little Einsteins Day Nursery - Wheatley are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nursery Cook and Housekeeper who can join our team as part of a job share.
You will plan, prepare and cook a balanced diet of healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children from birth to 5 years
The ideal candidate will have -
- A minimum of 1 years experience working within a cooking role.
- A clear, current DBS check
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or above
- Previous experience with Environmental Health
- Experience and knowledge on Allergens and Dietary Requirements
- Childcare qualification and experience would be advantageous
Main duties are -
- To prepare breakfast, morning and afternoon snack, lunch and a light tea each day for up to 60 children per day ensuring all food provided meets any requirements such as allergies, tolerances and cultural requirements
- To ensure that the kitchen cleanliness is maintained at a high standard to ensure we qualify for a 5 star food hygiene rating
- To adhere to the ‘Safer food better business’ standards and record keeping
- To be responsible for meeting with the Nursery Manager and/or Area Manager when planning new menu’s
- To plan and order the weekly shopping delivery
- To work with Environmental Health when they visit to carry out a kitchen inspection
- To set up, clean and tidy away the dining trolleys
- To assist with the daily washing of the nursery laundry including washing, drying and storage
- To replenish laundry within the childcare rooms along with bathroom consumables (ie paper towels, soap) throughout the day
- Cover annual leave and sickness where required.
Working hours will be between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday on a rota basis, opposite our current Nursery Cook, anticipated working days are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, this is flexible and can be discussed, however working a Wednesday will be a requirement. 16 hours per week with further hours for holiday cover.

Salary £24,960 FTE (£10,649.60 Actual)
