ProGen are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Refrigeration Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair and servicing of large commercial refrigeration systems predominantly within the food manufacturing sector. Our highly knowledgeable and experienced workforce operates with a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and minimal disruption to clients' business environments.
The role will involve working on a variety of refrigeration plant including:
- Direct Expansion (DX) refrigeration systems
- Glycol chilled refrigeration systems
- Cold storage and process cooling equipment
- Associated controls and ancillary equipment
In addition to service and maintenance activities, the successful candidate will be expected to provide assistance with refrigeration installations, commissioning, system upgrades and project work as required.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
- NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- F-Gas Category 1 Certification
- Full UK Driving Licence
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience working on commercial or industrial refrigeration systems.
- Proven experience working on large DX and glycol refrigeration systems.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and repair skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and refrigeration schematics.
- Ability to work independently and professionally on customer sites.
- Good communication and customer service skills.

On-Call RequirementsThe successful candidate will be expected to participate in the company's emergency call-out rota, currently operating on a 1 in 8-week basis (subject to change as the business grows).
Experience working within food manufacturing or industrial process cooling environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
