Job Title: Programme Facilitator
Location: Mainstay – Cumulus one – Community Hub
(Please note that all team members may be subject to transfer between locations according to client’s needs)
Accountable to: Day Opportunities Manager
Reports to: Assistant Manager
Hours of work: 30 hours per week
(Work includes irregular hours e.g. daytime, evenings, weekends,)
Salary: £13.04 per hour

Job Purpose:
To work in partnership with Day Opportunities Management, the Community Hub Team, families and external professionals to develop, deliver and review meaningful day opportunities and evening programmes which respond to the individual needs, interests and goals of each service user. The Programme Facilitator will support people to build confidence, independence, life skills, health and wellbeing through caring, person-centred and engaging support, while ensuring all activities are delivered safely and in line with organisational policies, health and safety requirements and best practice.
Job Activities:
· Develop, lead and actively support a varied programme of meaningful day opportunities that promote independence, confidence, wellbeing, social inclusion and personal development for service users.
· Support outdoor, gardening, horticulture and community-based activities as part of the wider programme offer, creating positive and engaging experiences for service users in a safe and inclusive way.
· Develop new programmes for service users which enhance daily living skills, independence, health and wellbeing.
· Monitor and review programmes to continuously improve them and ensure they remain aligned to the needs, interests and outcomes of service users.
· Identify any new risks within programmes, take appropriate action to reduce risk and report actions to your line manager for review and formal updating of risk assessments.
· Act as a keyworker for individual service users and maintain programme, outcome and support records in line with organisational and legislative requirements for Day Opportunities services.
· Support service users to take part in recreational, vocational, social and community activities, including activities inside and outside the centre where appropriate.
· Accurately maintain all records and administration in line with organisational policies and procedures, including effective handover to team members.
· Adhere to all health and safety requirements in the fulfilment of the role, including fire safety, safeguarding adults at risk and safe working practices.
· Report, record and escalate incidents, accidents and complaints appropriately and in good time, in line with policies and procedures.
· Support fundraising activity for the organisation, promote the charity positively and help meet contractual requirements.
· Take part in the collection and distribution of money from the central office to your working location where required.
· Uphold the Mainstay DRP Code of Professional Conduct and demonstrate high standards of professionalism, dignity and respect in all aspects of your role.
· Actively participate in supervision with your manager and develop your skills in required areas.
· Actively and positively participate in regular team meetings.
· Attend training events and courses as required in the fulfilment of your role. Training may be arranged on weekdays or weekends depending on service needs.
· Maintain any mandatory training, checks or registrations required by the organisation for your role.

Essential Criteria
1. Highly motivated, caring and committed to delivering person-centred support and service excellence.
2. Ability to support meaningful programmes and life skills activities in a practical, inclusive and person-centred way.
3. Willingness and enthusiasm to support outdoor, gardening, horticulture and community-based activities, including working outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
4. Ability to identify risk, follow risk assessments and contribute to safe programme delivery for service users and activities.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

7. Ability to work under pressure and respond calmly to changing needs.

9. Ability to support service users to develop life skills, confidence and independence.
10. Motivated to work in a challenging, fast-paced and extremely fulfilling caring environment with adults with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health conditions, dementia and autism.
Desirable Criteria
· Experience of co-ordinating programmes for groups of people, including supporting or delivering life skills sessions in a classroom or group setting.
· Experience, knowledge or a demonstrable interest in gardening, horticulture, outdoor learning, allotments, landscaping or environmental activities, gained through paid, voluntary or personal experience.
