Company Overview

John Dorse Ltd is a family-run business We run a small fleet of lorries across the UK providing hay and straw for a variety of agricultural, processing, poultry and equine use. We also offer general haulage and agricultural contracting and we also have livestock.

Summary

We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining our fleet of modern vehicles which include Volvo and Scania lorries, along side our agricultural vehicles & trailers. In this role you will include assist us with the repairs , maintenance and MOT preparation of the vehicles.

This role would suit someone self-employed looking 3-4 days work or alternatively a mechanic that could run a business from the premises with 3 days guaranteed work. We have a modern pit and workshop.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair HGVs and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy vehicles.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role.
Strong mechanical knowledge
Excellent attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in vehicle maintenance are preferred.
