Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Agency Care Assistant to provide compassionate support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by assisting with daily activities and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will be reliable, caring, and possess excellent communication skills. Prior experience in care settings is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This paid position is suitable for those looking to develop a career in health and social care.

Duties

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support
Support clients with daily routines, including meal preparation and light domestic duties
Help clients maintain their independence by encouraging participation in activities
Follow individual care plans to ensure personalised support is delivered effectively
Document care provided accurately and report any concerns to supervisors
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
Assist with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals
Travel between different care settings or clients’ homes using a vehicle (driving licence preferred)

Skills

Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail when following care plans
Basic IT skills for recording client information electronically
Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in caring for others
Reliable driving skills are desirable for home care roles
Excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues
