Job Description – Underwriter/Credit Placement

Moorgate Finance Ltd specialises in providing finance to support business growth, in a wide range of industry sectors including Motorsport, Construction, Logistics, and Agriculture.
We are a dynamic company with a team of Account Managers and appointed representatives. Our offices are just outside of Towcester with an on-site gym membership, café, lake, and woodland.

Role Objective
The Credit Placement Executive manages and places business with our 70+ lending partners, ensuring sales submissions are matched to the most suitable lenders. The role involves relationship management, accurate assessment of proposals, and supporting the development of financial products.
This role primarily focuses on unsecured lending and asset finance. Knowledge of reading accounts, management information, business forecasts, and bank statements is desirable. Full training will be provided to help experienced underwriters adapt to our products and processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Assessing financial proposals submitted by the sales team
· Amending proposals and sending them promptly to the appropriate lender to improve acceptances and returns
· Communicating with lenders via telephone and in person
· Negotiating with lending partners to secure the best terms for customers
· Maintaining accurate records of proposals in our CRM system
· Helping meet company targets and increase revenue
· Controlling where the volume of business is placed in the funding market
· Developing relationships with partners to grow business
· Supporting the development of financial products and communicating these with the sales team
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
· Competence with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and internet-based systems
· Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records
· Strong Excel skills, including creating, sorting, and analysing spreadsheets
· Clear verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent numeracy and attention to detail
· Analytical approach to problem-solving
· Ability to work independently and make sound, reasoned decisions under pressure
· Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage time efficiently
· Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
· Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable
· No formal educational requirements; GCSEs in English Language and Maths (Grade C or above) preferred
