The Secret Beach Bar & Kitchen is one of Swansea’s busiest and most vibrant coastal dining venues. We are now seeking an experienced and inspirational Head Chef to lead our kitchen team through a fast paced service and continue delivering the exceptional food we are known for.

We’re looking for someone who can thrive in a high-volume kitchen and has proven experience leading a busy kitchen. You will be calm under pressure, organised, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and consistency.

At The Secret, we promise you’ll never have experienced a kitchen quite like ours. It’s electric, fast paced, and bursting with energy. We’re looking for a Head Chef who thrives in the heat, someone who can lead with calm, confidence, and creativity no matter how busy it gets. Therefore, proven Head Chef experience is essential!

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage and motivate a diverse kitchen team
Excellent stock control and cost management skills
A positive attitude, passion for food, and a hands-on approach
Experience designing menus, costing dishes, and ensuring GP targets are met
Proven ability to maintain hygiene, safety, and compliance standards

Role Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations at an extremely busy venue
Champion food quality, presentation, and consistency across all services
Manage stock levels, ordering, and waste control with strong financial awareness
Lead, train, and support the kitchen team to foster a positive working culture
Collaborate with management on menu development and seasonal specials
Ensure all food safety, hygiene and H&S standards are maintained
