LOGISTEED UK Limited operates purpose‑built Processing Centres, with teams embedded directly within customer operations across 13 sites in total within the UK. Its head office sits within a 40,500 sq metre facility at Hillthorn Business Park in Washington, Sunderland, supported by a second 38,750 sq metre facility at Turbine Business Park less than a mile away, and a third Sunderland site leased to a partner. The company also manages a 3,300 sq metre centre in Basingstoke. Warehouse Supervisor
Hours of work
Working within the Operations Team based in Komatsu, Birtley, 39 hours per week: Rotating Day and Back Shift.
5.30am to 14.00 Monday to Friday
14.00 to 22.30 Monday to Thursday
14.00 to 19.30 Friday
Candidates must be flexible to support overtime.
Responsibilities
The Supervisor ensures a high standard of health and safety is maintained. They assign duties, supervise and report upon the work of varying numbers of Operators working in a warehouse environment. They provide effective leadership, communication, motivation and training/development. They ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to and manage performance through an agreed set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). They ensure that team members are trained in warehouse processes, and individual progress and performance are monitored. They will be required to carry out any further tasks as deemed necessary by the shift management team.
Summary of main tasks:
- Safety of all employees, visitors, customers and contractors in the Warehouse
- To carry out start and end of shift briefings (Shell 1), communicate start of shift objectives, brief company communications and carry out other meetings as necessary, e.g. Shell 2 07.00 / 15.30.
- To work closely with Control Tower to regulate/expedite throughput and take controlled stops in line with assembly performance/Takt Time, and pull from the absence pool to maintain Recovery Time Objective (RTO).
- To control and monitor attendance in accordance with company policies and processes.
- To actively check equipment and devices and ensure that anything that has been reported as a concern has been followed up on. Inc Start of shift material handling equipment (MHE) / Device checks.
- To control and manage all equipment documentation, ensuring optimum levels of serviceability are maintained.
- To carry out/delegate Gemba Kanri (GK) audits covering Manual Handling, Driving Standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
- To create One Point Lessons (OPL), brief staff and display, ensuring understanding and compliance.
- To ensure ILU/training plan is up to date.
- To manage the use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other IT to process customer requirements.
- To manage customer schedules to meet shift targets.
- To promote continuous team development and performance, and lead and promote continuous improvement activities.
- To support disciplinary and grievance issues in line with Vantec policies.
- To manage resources to cover staff absence & workload capabilities.
- To develop and deliver appraisals and fact files.
- To ensure a quality shift handover.
- To carry out problem-solving activities.
- To compile and communicate any reports requested by the company, including end-of-shift reports.
- To maintain visibility on the shop floor.
- To actively check equipment and ensure that anything that has been reported as a concern has been followed up on.
- To pick accurately at the rate / Takt Time in line with customer requirements.
- To ensure internal/external packaging is maintained.
- Any other duties as covered by your contract of employment.

- Support the operation with clear, concise decision-making and problem-solving.
- Support the Shift Manager with performance management by partnering with HR to drive a positive and consistent culture whilst supporting employee relations such as performance management, recruitment, disciplinary/capability processes, absence management and wellbeing.
Processes:
- Always monitor tasks/functions and police adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Agree and implement amendments to SOPs when anomalies have been reported.
- Actively communicate with staff to effectively handle day-to-day tasks and communicate any problems or concerns.
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company's Environmental Health & Safety policy.
- GK compliance to meet company objectives.
- Manage the ILU Matrix to support the flexibility of the operation.
Results:
- Achievement of daily plan in an accurate/timely manner.
- Ensure all visual management systems & dashboards are up to date.
- Achieve team development objectives and ensure training against the ILU matrix is implemented.
- Timely and accurate reporting of KPI’s to shift management.
- Maintain high-quality audit results from housekeeping to KPI’s.
- Ensure that any defects and damages are reported and followed up.
- Efficiently process customer requirements, ensuring all quality expectations are maintained.
- Meet Vantec Europe Ltd standards for productivity.
- Achieve the targets and job standards set out by the Shift Manager.
