What you’ll be responsible for
Operate Water Treatment Works and associated water pumping stations to company BMS and Health & Safety requirements. This will include:
Controlling chemical and other stock levels and consumables by control and management of purchasing via SAP. Monitoring and controlling expenditure to meet budgetary targets
Inducting, supervising and managing outside contractors carrying out revenue and reactive capital maintenance breakdowns and projects ensuring full compliance to Health & Safety and BMS requirements and ensuring quality control
To liaise with ME&I craftsmen on revenue and reactive capital maintenance work
Liaising and planning work with network supervisors and operatives to ensure uninterrupted supply when plant shut downs are required for maintenance and other associated work required on site
Participating in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for area of operation
Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business
About you
NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualifications in Water
Experience gained in the industry with use of SCADA systems, Instrumentation and Mechanical and Electrical equipment
Experience gained in the industry to ensure full compliance and adherence to all H&S issues
Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
Computer systems literate including SAP, Scope X, Exchange, Word and Excel
Awareness of regulatory bodies such as DWI and Environment Agency/NRW
Dealing with control of abstraction under licence at raw water intakes
Dealing with discharge consent licence for all environmental discharges
Good to know
