Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, demonstrating expertise in diagnosing issues and executing repairs efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to ensuring the safety and functionality of all mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- The preparation of sales vehicles to an exceptional standard. This process involved receiving the vehicle upon arrival, diagnosing any existing issues, conducting road tests, identifying necessary repairs, executing those repairs, coordinating with parts suppliers to procure required components, and performing a final pre-delivery inspection to ensure the vehicle is ready for sale.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and machinery, ensuring optimal performance.
- Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and manual methods, providing accurate assessments of required repairs.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent on repairs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology to enhance skills and knowledge.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is essential.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are desirable but not mandatory.
