The role

As a Training Analyst Designer, you’ll help shape how people learn and perform in complex, safety-critical environments. This isn’t just about creating training content, you’ll analyse operational requirements, define what “good” looks like in real-world scenarios, and design learning solutions that genuinely support performance on the job.

Day-to-day, you’ll work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and learning design, translating technical requirements into engaging, structured digital learning. It’s a unique opportunity to be involved early in major programmes, helping ensure teams are ready before systems even go live. Your work will have a direct impact on safety, performance, and operational success.

Conducting structured training analysis to define tasks, standards, and performance requirements
Engaging with subject matter experts to gather evidence and challenge assumptions
Designing clear, effective digital learning solutions aligned to operational needs
Developing eLearning content using tools such as Articulate 360
Supporting governance by ensuring outputs are accurate, traceable, and meet quality standards

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard

Essential experience of the Training Analyst Designer

Experience designing and developing eLearning using Articulate 360 or similar tools
Understanding of structured training analysis or instructional design methods such as DSAT
Ability to translate technical or operational requirements into clear learning outcomes
Strong communication skills with confidence working with stakeholders
Experience working in regulated, engineering, or safety-critical environments

Qualifications for the Training Analyst Designer

Minimum Level 3 qualification in learning and development, education, instructional design, or similar
Relevant experience in training analysis or instructional design (essential)
Additional qualifications in learning and development or technical disciplines - Desirable

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
