We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated OOH Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at New Priory Vets on a part-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated PETS out-of-hours service at our flagship hospital in central Brighton. We are proud to provide our own out-of-hours service, ensuring continuity of care for our patients while supporting local clinics overnight.
Our Brighton hospital offers a full range of first-opinion services, including medicine, surgery, CT, ultrasound, radiography, dentistry and nurse clinics, with the added support of on-site referral specialists. You'll work alongside a collaborative team committed to delivering outstanding patient and client care.

- Joining the team during a period of practice redevelopment and rebuild
- Exposure to a large, experienced and highly qualified team with specialist capabilities, including diagnostic imaging specialists

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
Working Pattern
- Night shifts on a rolling rota between 4:30pm–1:00am and 10:00pm–9:00am
General Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care during overnight shifts
- Work confidently as the sole-charge nurse when required
- Support routine and complex surgical cases
- Provide emergency and critical care nursing
We're looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You'll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement
- Experience in emergency and critical care
- Confidence working as a sole-charge nurse
