Wynsdale Group is seeking an exceptional, ambitious and highly driven Business Development Manager to play a key role in the next phase of our growth.
A background in waste management is absolutely essential. Please do not apply if your experience is outside the waste management sector.
We are looking for an exceptional Business Development Manager with a proven track record of selling high-value waste management contracts.
This is a senior new business role for someone who already understands the waste sector, knows how to open doors, and can convert meaningful opportunities into substantial contract wins.
We are not looking for an Account Manager, Customer Service Manager, or someone looking to transition into waste management sales. We are looking for a genuine new business hunter with industry contacts, a strong network, and a proven ability to win contracts.

Unlike many traditional waste brokers, our revenues are generated through a combination of outsourced and self-delivered services. Alongside our well-established waste management division, we operate successful cleaning, property maintenance, facilities management and pest control businesses.
Our client base includes major public sector organisations, local authorities, housing providers and large corporate customers, many operating across multiple locations.
Following a period of sustained growth and strong trading performance, we are now investing further in our sales team to accelerate expansion across the UK.
The Opportunity
This is a genuine new business role.
You will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing profitable new waste management contracts across the commercial, industrial, corporate and public sectors throughout the UK.
You will be expected to manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship development through to tender submission, commercial negotiation, contract award and mobilisation support.
We want someone who can make an immediate impact from day one and bring with them a strong pipeline of contacts, relationships and opportunities.
You Must Have:
- Proven experience selling waste management services
- A demonstrable track record of winning high-value waste management contracts
- Experience securing contracts valued up to £1m
- Experience selling into corporate, public sector and multi-site organisations
- Strong contacts within the commercial, industrial, public sector or multi-site waste markets
- The ability to generate opportunities independently rather than rely on marketing-generated leads
- Strong commercial awareness and contract negotiation skills
- Experience managing complex sales cycles through to contract award
- Confidence dealing with senior decision-makers, procurement teams and stakeholders
We are specifically looking for someone with an established network of industry contacts, decision-makers and prospective customers that can be developed into meaningful commercial opportunities from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and secure profitable new waste management contracts
- Develop strategic target accounts and build relationships with key decision-makers
- Generate and qualify new business opportunities
- Arrange and attend customer meetings, presentations and site visits
- Lead tender submissions and commercial negotiations
- Build a sustainable pipeline of high-value opportunities
- Work closely with operational teams to support mobilisation and implementation
- Consistently exceed sales targets and growth objectives

If you prefer managing existing accounts rather than hunting new opportunities, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.
