The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is a unique environment where Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences, the Manchester School of Art and the Manchester Fashion Institute, creating a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment supported by state of the art digital and technical facilities.

Manchester Fashion Institute (MFI) is one the UK's largest specialist fashion providers, recognised globally for its excellence in higher education and research. We are seeking a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader in Fashion Marketing to join our dynamic team who will contribute to the students' educational journey, bringing their experience to inspire the next generation of fashion talent. It is expected that the successful candidate will take on rotational (3-4 years) Programme Leader responsibility bringing experience, skills and knowledge to the strategic leadership and continued development of the programme.

About the team:

As a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader in Fashion Marketing, you will lead curriculum development, quality assurance, teaching and student experience. You will have interests and expertiseincluding but not limited to: Consumer Behaviour; B2C and B2B Marketing; Retail Marketing; Marketing Strategy; Marketing Communications; Digital Marketing; Advertising and Branding; Brand Management; International Marketing, Marketing Analytics and AI marketing. It should be noted that experience does not have to specifically be from fashion background, although we would seek assurance through the application process that you could apply your broader marketing expertise in a fashion context.

The post holder will also be expected to contribute to their education practice through teaching and learning innovation and scholarship that aligns with the university's education strategy.

About the candidate:

The successful applicant will have:

Essential Skills:

A good first degree in a relevant discipline, together with either postgraduate qualification(s), equivalent professional experience, or evidence of professional practice and/or scholarly contribution relevant to the role.

A PGCE, Certificate of Education, PGCLTHE or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or an agreed professional equivalent, or commitment FHEA to obtain within three years of appointment.

Interests and expertise within Fashion Marketing including but not limited to: Consumer Behaviour; B2B Marketing; Retail Marketing; Marketing Strategy; Marketing Communications; Digital Marketing; Advertising and Branding; Brand Management; International Marketing, Marketing Analytics and AI marketing.

Commitment to the University's strategic objectives, with a focus on supporting Education, Practice and Citizenship.

Experience of academic leadership in education

Commitment to the University's policies and procedures including promoting equality in own area of responsibility and in general conduct.

Desirable:

Membership of relevant Professional bodies, demonstrating professional standing.
