Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Fryer to oversee the preparation and cooking of fried dishes in our busy award winning kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, particularly in food preparation and frying techniques, with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role requires leadership in managing the frying station, ensuring efficient meal production, and supporting overall kitchen operations. The Head Fryer will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our customers through expert cooking and team coordination.
Responsibilities
- Lead the frying station by preparing and cooking a variety of fried dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation of all fried items.
- Supervise kitchen staff during meal preparation, providing guidance on cooking techniques and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the frying area in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies related to frying operations, placing orders as needed.
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of ingredients.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff on frying techniques, safety protocols, and hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with the head chef and management team to develop new menu items featuring fried dishes.
- Manage time effectively during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of frying techniques and culinary skills related to meal preparation.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or catering setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices in a commercial kitchen.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours while maintaining high quality standards.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in food presentation.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members.
