Trainee Bus Driver

Lothian Buses – Edinburgh
£16.66 per hour (rising to £19.29) + overtime

Start a new career as a Trainee Bus Driver with Lothian Buses – no prior bus experience required.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable individuals to join our team and help keep Edinburgh and the Lothians moving. If you enjoy working with people and want a stable, rewarding career, we’d love to hear from you.

What We Offer

Paid training (5 weeks) to gain your PCV (Category D) licence
£16.66 per hour following the 5-week training period.
Rising to £19.29 per hour after 2 years (£39,120 per year).
Overtime available at enhanced rates

The Role

As a Trainee Bus Driver, you will:

Drive our buses, ensure every journey is safe, reliable, and comfortable
Provide excellent customer service to passengers

Requirements

Full UK manual driving licence (held for at least 12 months)
Maximum 6 penalty points
A friendly and professional manner
Good communication skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends (5 week rolling rota)
