Overview
We are looking for talented, passionate and friendly musicians to join our Tutors team in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
The role will be as a Music Tutor at our Rock School, delivering Musical Instrument Tution on Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard and/or Drum Kit, working with children and adults of all abilities aged 6 - 18 years (especially those with special educational needs) on music based projects in the local area. There are also opportunities to join our Private Tuition team and attend, teach and perform at various and regular social activity clubs, events and concerts. Hours will vary based on demand and availability. A little teaching experience preferred but not essential as continuous training and support will be given. Experience working with SEND children and adults preferred. This position is on a self-employed basis.
The successful candidates will be:
- Competent on at least 1 or all of the following instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Drum Kit - multi-instrumentalist a bonus!
- Passionate about playing music and the importance of sharing it with others.
- Patient, empathetic, and have the ability to motivate students, which are essential qualities for success in this role.
- Have great communication skills with children and adults alike, especially those with SEN.
- Able to foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and confidence.
- The ability to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Able to drive with a full UK Driving License.
- Registered as Self-Employed with proof of a UTC.
- Ability to sing is a bonus but not essential.
A full DBS check will be given.
