We are seeking a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join Cottenham Village College. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, ensuring continuity of education during teacher absence.
You will supervise classes, deliver pre-set work, support positive behaviour for learning and help maintain a calm and focused classroom environment. This role is ideal for someone considering a future career in teaching or education, or for someone with strong organisational and interpersonal skills who enjoys working with young people.

Key responsibilities
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Provide feedback on pupil engagement and behaviour to teaching staff

Support a positive and inclusive learning environment

Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff

Assist with administrative tasks linked to cover arrangements where required

Support the Cover Manager during periods of absence, including assisting with the planning and coordination of school cover

Contribute to the wider life of the school

Is confident managing groups of young people in a classroom environment

Has strong organisational and time management skills
