Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Host or Hostess to join our team at Wisteria Lodge in Hampshire as part of homes expansion plan. In this role, you will be essential in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our residents and visitors, ensuring their dining and social experiences are exceptional. Your contribution will help uphold our commitment to outstanding care and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Greet residents and visitors warmly, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
- Assist in food preparation and presentation to meet high standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all dining areas.
- Support the catering team during meal times, ensuring smooth service.
- Preparing and serving beverages and refreshments in residents’ rooms, lounges, and the dining room throughout the day.
- Setting, clearing, and resetting the dining room for each meal service to the highest standard.
- Maintaining HACCP records and ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
- Conducting daily stock checks and replenishment for the servery and satellite kitchen.
- Supporting residents to enjoy mealtimes at their own pace, without pressure, preserving dignity and independence.
- Covering kitchen assistant duties in emergency situations to ensure continuity of service for our residents.
- Uphold food safety regulations at all times.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming environment that reflects the home's ethos.
- Collaborate with staff to enhance resident satisfaction and wellbeing.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience in catering, hospitality, or food service roles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a caring attitude.
- Knowledge of food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is advantageous.
- Friendly, approachable demeanor with strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the care home environment.

Pay: £12.85-£13.10 per hour
