Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Transport and Distribution Clerk to join our team. This role involves managing administrative tasks related to distribution processes, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining smooth communication within the department. The ideal candidate will possess strong office skills, be proficient with computer applications, and demonstrate excellent organisational abilities. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop valuable clerical experience within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with the processing and organisation of distribution orders and shipments
Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and delivery schedules
Input data efficiently using data entry systems and update records regularly
Utilise Microsoft Office programmes, including Word and Excel, for reporting and documentation
Manage correspondence via email and phone, demonstrating professional phone etiquette
Support the team with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and document management
Use QuickBooks for invoicing and financial record keeping related to distribution activities
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely fulfilment of orders
Ensure all documentation complies with company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Proven office experience or administrative background is preferred
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace applications
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute with high accuracy
Good data entry skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and professional phone etiquette
Previous clerical or administrative experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided as needed
