Role Purpose

We are seeking a proactive Compliance Assistant to support our Head of Compliance in ensuring that our business and appointed representatives meet all regulatory obligations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to develop a career in compliance within the motor trade and financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head of Compliance in managing all FCA-related queries from internal teams and external motor dealers.
Support dealers with applications and queries regarding FCA permissions.
Monitor day-to-day compliance across the organisation and escalate issues where appropriate.
Assist with the logging, investigation, and resolution of customer complaints in line with FCA guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits, and reports.
Help ensure policies, procedures, and documentation remain up to date and fit for purpose.
Contribute to staff training initiatives and the promotion of a strong compliance culture.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a compliance, financial services, or motor trade environment.
Basic understanding of FCA regulations and principles.
Experience handling customer complaints or regulatory submissions.

Personal Qualities

Proactive and willing to learn.
Professional and approachable manner.
Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
