Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electronics Technician to join our growing team at Trusted Trade Tech. We are a specialist business focused entirely on the high-quality refurbishment, repair and resale of consumer technology – including smartphones, laptops, tablets, wearables and other portable electronic devices. This is a hands-on role where you will use your technical knowledge to diagnose faults, carry out precise repairs and fully restore devices to excellent working and cosmetic condition. You will work in our busy Sunderland workshop, playing a key part in getting tech back into use for our customers. This role is ideal for anyone with practical electronics experience, looking to work with the latest devices and develop their skills further in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Duties - Diagnose and repair faults across all major brands of smartphones, laptops, tablets and portable electronics -
Carry out common and complex repairs: screen replacements, battery swaps, charging port fixes, camera/speaker replacements, and component-level soldering work where required -
Complete full device refurbishment: safe disassembly, deep cleaning, part replacement, reassembly and cosmetic finishing to meet our high quality standards -
Perform all software work: secure data wiping, factory resets, OS updates, troubleshooting software errors, and removing accounts/locks - Fully test every device after repair/refurbishment to confirm all functions work perfectly: display, touch, battery life, connectivity, audio, cameras and sensors
- Use specialist hand tools, soldering equipment and test meters accurately and safely -
Keep clear, accurate records of all work completed, parts used and device status
- Follow all health & safety rules, quality checks and company procedures - Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop area
✅Skills & Requirements - Previous hands-on experience repairing smartphones, laptops or similar electronic devices -
Strong understanding of consumer electronics hardware, components and how systems operate -
Confident using standard and specialist repair tools; able to disassemble and reassemble devices safely without damage
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills – able to identify issues quickly and apply the right solution
- Good working knowledge of common operating systems (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS) and experience with software resets/updates
- High attention to detail – committed to producing work that works perfectly and looks excellent
- Good organisational skills: able to manage multiple jobs at once and meet targets
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision, and also work well as part of our small team
- Reliable, responsible and proud of producing high-quality work
