Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. The free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and by rapid response vehicles.
Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.
They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only available in the hospital emergency department.
Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed to the most appropriate hospital by air or land.
Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives…we can’t fly without you!
Job purpose:
The Data & Insights Analyst will be responsible for supporting the maximisation of effective fundraising through high‑quality data, robust CRM management and administration, and clear, actionable insight. The postholder will ensure that fundraising and supporter data is well‑designed, accurately maintained, and transformed into meaningful business intelligence that supports growth, retention, and exceptional donor experiences.
Working closely with fundraising, marketing, supporter care, and leadership teams, the role will provide insight into donor behaviour, campaign performance, income trends, and supporter informatics. By developing and maintaining reliable data structures, reports, and data selections the postholder will help the charity make informed, evidence‑based decisions, and support fundraising campaigns to maximise income at all levels.
This role plays a critical part in strengthening the charity’s relationship with its supporters by ensuring data enables personalised engagement, informed stewardship, effective compliance, and continuous improvement across all fundraising activity.
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
CRM and Data Administration

Ensure supporter and fundraising data is accurately maintained, consistent, and fit for purpose within the Charity’s CRM and other data systems

Support the development and maintenance of data structures, coding frameworks, and naming conventions

Carry out data validation, transformation, imports, and updates (such as supporters, donations, campaigns, consent data)

Identify and resolve data quality issues such as duplicates, inconsistencies, and data gaps

Undertake regular data cleansing, reconciliation, and audits to improve data integrity and quality
Support, train, and guide colleagues to ensure best practice use of the CRM and maintain high standards of data entry

Data Selections & Campaign Delivery

Create accurate and targeted data selections for direct mail, email, lottery, and multi-channel fundraising campaigns

Work closely with fundraising teams to understand campaign objectives and develop effective targeting strategies

Apply segmentation approaches based on supporter behaviour, value, and engagement
-
Manage suppression lists and ensure all selections comply with consent and communication preferences
Support test-and-learn approaches (e.g. A/B testing, pricing tests, control groups) through robust data selection and analysis

Insight, Reporting & Analysis

Analyse supporter and fundraising data to identify trends in income, behaviour, retention, acquisition, and campaign performance

Produce regular reports, dashboards, and performance summaries to support decision-making

Support the team in developing and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting frameworks using data from the Charity’s CRM and other systems

Support in translating complex data into clear insight, commentary, and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders

Evaluate campaign performance and support in providing actionable recommendations to improve results and supporter experience
Insight-Led Improvement & Collaboration

Work collaboratively with fundraising, finance, and operational teams to understand data needs and improve data use

Proactively identify opportunities to improve targeting, reporting efficiency, and supporter journeys

Share insight and recommendations to support income growth and supporter engagement

Contribute to the development and embedding of a data-driven culture across the organisation

Support the Systems Team with the implementation of and migration to new data systems, playing a role in data mapping, extraction, transformation, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Compliance & Governance

Ensure all supporter data is handled in line with GDPR, PECR, fundraising regulation, and internal policies

Accurately manage consent, communication preferences, and suppression requirements

Ensure all data selections, extracts, and reporting are compliant and secure
Other Responsibilities

Maintain clear documentation of data structures, definitions, reporting logic, and Power BI models

Support training of colleagues and stakeholders in CRM and data processes

Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role

As EHAAT is a patient focused emergency medical charity we feel it is essential that all our staff are competent and confident in the delivery of CPR and use of an AED (defibrillator) in an emergency. For this reason, you will need to complete mandatory, in house, CPR and AED awareness training annually
