Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Waste Service Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles to collect waste from welfare units and portaloos and lightly clean the toilets. Delivery and collection of portaloos will also be required.

Working hours are 6am - 4pm with the option of early finish if all jobs are completed before end of working day

Overtime work is £25 per hour

This position involves working on a scheduled route, adhering to safety regulations, and maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle and work environment.

Duties

Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to collect waste from designated locations
Ensure timely collection and transportation of waste materials in accordance with schedule
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during driving operations
Maintain accurate records of collections, routes, and vehicle maintenance reports
Assist with loading or unloading waste materials when necessary
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route updates or issues
Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, reporting any repairs needed promptly

Experience

Experience operating flatbed vehicles is advantageous
Familiarity with waste collection procedures or environmental services is a plus
Valid driving licence suitable for operating large commercial vehicles (category C or equivalent)
Proven track record of safe driving practices and punctuality

This role is ideal for motivated individuals who take pride in their work, prioritise safety, and are committed to delivering excellent service. Applicants should possess relevant driving experience and be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
