Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking to hire a 3.5t van driver to join our team at Henderson Seafood, based at Paignton harbour, Devon.

The role consists of night shifts, driving from Paignton to central London. Including a few stops for picks ups on route, loading, unloading and returning to Paignton depot.

We are looking for someone initially to take on 2 night shifts per week, with potential to increase as we grow further. The initial nights will most likely be Mondays and Tuesdays.

The person we are looking for will be hard working, a methodical thinker with a great initiative when lone working. Being personable, a good communicator, confident and with some experience dealing face to face with customers would be an advantage.

Experience in driving to London or knowledge of the London area will be an advantage but is not necessary. You will need a valid UK driving licence (please make us aware of any other relevant qualifications you may hold)

We would be looking for someone to start on a few trial shifts, with one of our current drivers during June 2026. We can be flexible for the right person.

Responsibilities

To follow a breakdown, route plan and handover for the shift.
To pack a van, handle, box and grade shellfish and re pack some fresh fish on route.
Unload boxes on to designated pallets following delivery route paperwork
Load and unloading boxes, ensuring own safety and that items are handled with care.
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communication with the team.
Conduct basic routine vehicle inspections / paperwork, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly To management.
Be responsible when lone working.
Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
