Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join us as a Quantity Surveying Degree Apprentice. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the construction process while supporting the team with general administrative duties.
On completion of your Degree Apprenticeship, you will receive a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Quantity Surveying.
If you have strong attention to detail, excellent numeracy skills, and a desire to develop a rewarding career in construction, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities (training will be provided):
- Taking quantities from drawings and obtaining quotes from suppliers.
- Ordering of materials, managing subcontractor enquiries and subsequent orders, and preparation of Health & Safety documentation for construction projects based on templates.
- Provide administrative support to the office and construction teams, including data entry, filing, and maintaining project records.
- Manage office duties such as organising documents, scheduling meetings, and coordinating project timelines.
- Liaising with architects, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Assist with using software to record sales/purchases and reconcile accounts.
- Support payroll preparation, invoice tracking, and payment management.
- Maintain an organised workspace and ensure that office supplies are stocked.
- Assist with tender document preparation.
Requirements:
- Minimum Academic entry requirements to enroll onto Degree Apprenticeship programme, typically equivalent of BBB at A levels.
- Previous relevant experience is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in office software (Excel/Word/Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of organisation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- A full UK driving licence and your own transport are essential.
