Kingswood Medical Group (KMG), comprising Kingswood Surgery and Carfax Medical Centre, is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to work across both sites.
We are based in Swindon, operating as a Primary Care Network (PCN) in our own right, and are also part of the Brunel Group, offering opportunities to help shape clinical services for the wider community.
KMG serves a patient population of approximately 29,000, covering some of the most deprived areas of Swindon. Our patients are at the heart of everything we do.
Our clinical team includes:
- Five GP Partners and salaried GPs
- A strong Nursing team
- Pharmacists
- Physiotherapists
- A Personalised Care Team, including Mental Health Nurses, Social Prescribers, and a Dietitian
We are recruiting for a friendly, enthusiastic, caring, professional to join our expanding Administration team and help support our extremely busy practice at Kingswood Surgery, afternoons, approximately 25hrs per week.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients through face-to-face contact on reception or through the calls we receive from patients seeking help and support.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities described below are those of the clinical admin team.
- To support the Team Leader in the delivery of safe and efficient responses to patient requirements
- Being the first point of contact to our patient enquiries and appointment booking requests by telephone or face to face at the reception desk
- Dealing with clerical tasks such as change of address etc. as required
- Checking and completion of tasks as appropriate
- Creating of new patient records
- Control of all patient files and related admin to required quality standards and in line with information governance GDPR and DPA regulations
Other Responsibilities
- To ensure clinical resource and appointment allocation are used in the most effective way
- To undertake any other duties commensurate within the post holder’s role as requested by the Operations Manager or Team Leader
- Attending training and events organised by the surgery or other agencies, where appropriate

The surgery is open 0800-1830. You may be required to provide additional support in times of absence therefore, flexibility would be ideal. We operate on a shift system to ensure sufficient staff are available during Practice hours.
Due to the nature of our business, it is a company requirement that all employees must have a clear DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).
