Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Slough operative. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes through various horticultural and construction activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in landscape maintenance, gardening, and construction within a dynamic environment. The position requires a proactive approach, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with a range of tools and equipment.

Duties

Conduct landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and general gardening tasks
Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators and irrigation systems
Assist with construction projects related to outdoor spaces, including groundwork and structural repairs
Perform routine maintenance on machinery and garden equipment to ensure optimal functioning
Implement irrigation systems and ensure proper water management for landscaped areas
Carry out general horticultural activities to promote healthy growth of plants and shrubs
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, ensuring safety standards are adhered to at all times
Support team members in specialised tasks requiring mechanical knowledge or construction expertise

Experience

Prior experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable
Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools, hand tools, and machinery such as excavators is advantageous
Familiarity with irrigation systems and general construction practices will be beneficial
Previous work involving garden or outdoor space design, installation, or upkeep is preferred
Practical understanding of safety procedures when working with heavy equipment or power tools is essential
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions is required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £33,000.00-£35,400.00 per year
