Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, as a Senior Cloud Engineer – Core Platform at Bango, you will play a key role in the design, evolution, and operation of our cloud-native platform.You will work on the continuous improvement of the core Kubernetes platform, contributing to the implementation of new platform capabilities, improving reliability, scalability, and security of the infrastructure used by our engineering teams.You will also contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the entire CI/CD ecosystem, supporting the software lifecycle from source control through automated build, testing, and deployment pipelines using modern DevOps practices and tooling such as Git, Flux, and related DevOps technologies.The Technical Services team covers a wide area of skillsets, including platform architecture, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes platform management, CI/CD enablement, platform security, and observability. This enables BANGO to provide a resilient, scalable, and secure platform supporting product development and delivery.In this role, you will be expected to have a strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes platform operations, and modern DevOps/GitOps practices, contributing to the evolution of our platform while ensuring operational excellence.A key aspect of the role will be improving the developer experience, enabling engineering teams to deliver software faster and more reliably by providing robust platform services, reusable infrastructure patterns, and efficient CI/CD pipelines.Another critical aspect of the role is the definition, promotion, and enforcement of best practices related to platform usage, cloud architecture, automation, and deployment processes. This role includes (but is not limited to) the following tasks and activities
- Contribute to the evolution and operation of the Kubernetes-based core platform
- Design and implement new platform capabilities and services for internal engineering teams
- Maintain and improve the CI/CD stack, from source control to automated deployments
- Implement and evolve DevOps workflows using tools such as Flux and Gitlab
- Design and maintain scalable and reliable deployment pipelines
- Improve platform automation, reliability, and observability
- Assess and propose solutions for platform, deployment, or automation bottlenecks
- Support and maintain infrastructure and platform services running on AWS
- Provide Level 3 support for platform and deployment-related issues
- Collaborate with Software Engineers to enable efficient platform usage
- Promote platform best practices, automation, and cloud-native principles
- Design effective solutions to complex infrastructure and platform challenges
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of the Core Platform

3+ years of experience with AWS cloud services and cloud architecture best practices

3+ years of experience with Linux systems and networking

Strong experience with Kubernetes platform operations and management

Proven experience in Cloud / DevOps / Platform Engineering roles

Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)

Experience with automation and scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.)

- Experience managing production-grade EKS clusters including upgrades, networking, and platform services

Experience designing and maintaining DevOps-based deployment architectures

Experience with Gitlab and Flux for CI/CD piepleines is a plus
