Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our workshop environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team of technicians, ensuring the efficient completion of maintenance and repair tasks, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a busy industrial setting, contributing to the smooth running of workshop activities.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of workshop technicians, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high standards
Liaise with Customers on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being met
Plan weekly work loads across two workshops
Allocate tasks and monitor progress to meet deadlines and operational requirements
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure safety and functionality
Provide technical guidance and support to team members on mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance logs
Organise training sessions for staff where and when needed
Liaise and work with the Transport department to schedule repairs and minimise downtime
Ensure paperwork is complete and sent to customers daily
Deliver monthly reports to Directors on KPIs

Skills

Previous knowledge of workshop environments or previous work experience in similar role
Good knowledge with computers and IT software
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Leadership qualities with experience managing a team of technicians
Good communication skills to provide clear instructions and feedback
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to workshop operations

This position is ideal for candidates with a solid background in mechanical maintenance who are looking to take on a supervisory role within a busy commercial workshop. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety standards.
