Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) & Heating Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of air source heat pump systems alongside traditional heating systems, ensuring all works comply with current regulations, manufacturer guidance, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission air source heat pump systems in domestic and/or commercial properties
- Service, maintain, and fault-find ASHP systems and associated controls
- Install, service, and repair low-temperature heating systems (underfloor heating, radiators, buffer tanks, cylinders)
- Carry out system flushing, pressure testing, and balancing
- Ensure correct setup of controls, weather compensation, and system optimisation
- Complete commissioning sheets, handover documentation, and customer guidance
- Ensure compliance with MCS standards, Building Regulations, and health & safety requirements
- Liaise professionally with clients, tenants, site managers, and office staff
- Identify additional works or system improvements and report accordingly
- Maintain accurate job records, service reports, and certification
- Participate in emergency or breakdown call-outs where required
Qualifications & Certifications (Essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
- Air Source Heat Pump qualification (e.g. Level 3 Low Temperature Heating & Hot Water Systems)
- Proven experience installing and/or maintaining ASHP systems
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills & Certifications
- MCS accreditation (or experience working under an MCS umbrella)
- Unvented hot water qualification (G3)
- Experience with manufacturer systems (e.g. Daikin, Mitsubishi, Samsung, Vaillant)
- Experience working in retrofit and new-build environments
