About the Role
We are looking for a commercially minded FP&A Analyst to join our growing finance team. This is a highly visible role that will work closely with senior leadership, Supply Chain, Sales, and National Account Managers to provide financial insight, drive performance, and support strategic decision-making across the Group.
The successful candidate will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial modelling, helping to translate complex financial data into meaningful business intelligence. Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process across the Group.
- Produce monthly and quarterly forecasts, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Manage profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasting.
Business Partnering
- Partner with National Account Managers to provide profitability analysis, pricing support, and commercial insight.
- Work closely with Supply Chain teams to analyse procurement costs, supplier pricing, inventory, and margin performance.
- Support commercial tenders, bids, and customer profitability reviews.
- Challenge assumptions and support operational teams in understanding financial performance.
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce monthly management information packs, KPI dashboards, and performance reports for senior leadership.
- Deliver insightful variance analysis and recommendations.
- Provide ad hoc financial modelling and scenario analysis to support business decisions.
- Monitor key metrics including gross margin, EBITDA, working capital, and overhead recovery.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
- Utilise ERP and reporting systems to extract and analyse financial data.
- Maintain robust and reliable financial models and reporting tools.
- Support the development of a data-driven culture across the business.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
- Support audit and year-end reporting requirements.
- Assist with strategic projects and additional reporting requirements as directed by the Finance Director.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Part-qualified or fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA accountant preferred.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is desirable.
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience within FP&A, Commercial Finance, or Management Accounting.
- Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and scenario modelling.
- Experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders across Sales, Operations, or Supply Chain functions.
- Ability to present financial information clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders.
- Experience using ERP systems; Navision or Business Central experience would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Commercially curious, analytical, and proactive with excellent problem-solving abilities.
