Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Nurse to join our specialised dental team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care within our orthodontic practice. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about dental health and eager to develop their skills in a professional environment. The role involves supporting orthodontists in delivering effective treatment, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining clinical standards.

Responsibilities

Assist orthodontists during patient consultations and procedures, ensuring smooth clinical operations
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments in accordance with health and safety protocols
Provide comprehensive patient care, including explaining procedures and post-treatment instructions
Take and develop dental radiographs as required, maintaining accuracy and safety standards
Manage patient records accurately, documenting treatments and observations diligently
Support patients through appointment scheduling, reminders, and follow-up care instructions
Maintain a clean, organised clinical environment to uphold hygiene standards
Educate patients on orthodontic appliances, oral hygiene practices, and dietary considerations

Skills

Proven experience in patient care within a dental or orthodontic setting is desirable
Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental and facial structures
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Compassionate approach with a focus on patient comfort and reassurance
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Basic knowledge of dental software systems for record keeping is advantageous
