We are a compliance management company that provides training in the automotive sector through our completely online platform. We inject fun and entertaining content into what can be a rather dull subject, making compliance and training more bearable! We are looking for an Editing Assistant to join our media team and add that extra bit of magic and spark to our training videos and social media content.
This role would best suit a recently graduated media student or videography freelancer looking to learn new skills and push on with their career. We’re looking for someone with dedication, enthusiasm, creativity, and attention to detail, who can help make our content as engaging as possible.
If that’s you, get in touch!
What does this role involve?
In the first 3-6 months, your role will involve:
- Organising raw footage and audio into the system
- Trimming and aligning clips, colour grading, audio cleaning, and censoring sensitive data
- Creating video sequences, applying cuts, transitions, and graphics
- Formatting the video sequences for different platforms
- Making appealing thumbnails for the videos
After 6 months you will begin to expand your role:
- Filming the videos
- Updating & maintaining company social media
You are not expected to contribute to the scripting of any videos. A knowledge of the MOT/motor industry would likely be beneficial but is in no way required – we have the experts for that! Ideally, we are looking for someone who has a keen interest in media production, so would be especially happy to hear from anyone who does filming/production/editing as a hobby.
Why work for MOT Juice?
- We are a small, tight-knit company, so you’ll be a part of a friendly & sociable work environment
- Comfy, modern office with casual dress and free tea & coffee
- Company parties twice per year
- Free on-site parking
- Ongoing training and progression
- Company pension
- Discounted rates at CCM Garage for any work to vehicles, including MOTs
- Free premium Spotify account
Attributes we’re looking for
- IT Skills – experience using Adobe Premiere Pro is required, however we will provide training for our specific editing process, along with training using other Adobe Suite apps. This role also involves heavy use of monday.com to help keep track of your workflow across different videos.
- Attention to detail – if you enjoy a well-structured and organised workflow, you will be well-suited to this role. You must be able to keep track of your workflow (we use monday.com to keep track of different stages of the editing process), keep files meticulously well-organised, and carry out your tasks methodically.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills - although training for this role is provided, an ability to troubleshoot or investigate minor obstacles is necessary. While editing you should continually review what you’ve done to spot any changes that should be made.
- Creativity – you should be able to choose and implement interesting/fun visuals and graphics into the videos to make them more appealing to viewers.
- Confidence and enthusiasm – you should have the ability to work well with others. A sociable person would be better suited for this role as it is based in a small, friendly, and talkative office environment.
If you're passionate about video editing and want to help create content that people genuinely enjoy watching, we'd love to hear from you!
