Security Systems Engineer Package Overview:
- £35,000 – £40,000 Basic Salary (Negotiable depending on experience)

- Based: Chelmsford (Essex) — travel across a patch roughly between Ipswich and East London

Security Systems Engineer Role and Responsibilities:
- Installation, service, repair, fault-finding and maintenance of IP CCTV, Access Control, Door Entry and Intruder Alarm systems
- Responsive repairs and planned preventative maintenance across commercial and residential sites
- Field-based role — day-to-day travel roughly between Ipswich and East London, centred on Essex
- Willingness to sometimes work away is required — as an example (but not limited to) around 1 week a month, depending on contracts. Working away is paid at an enhanced rate, with your hotel paid for and a food allowance provided
- Working on a range of manufacturer brands
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults with a first-time-fix mentality
- From time to time you'll be asked to support our electricians when they're super busy — and it works both ways: you'll learn from us and pick up skills across the electrical side while you're at it
- Provide professional communication to customers and residents at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation, job records and asset condition reports
- Work independently or as part of the wider engineering team
- Take responsibility for the overall quality of work delivered
Security Systems Engineer Skills and Experience Required:
- 2 years' experience in the security industry preferred
- Knowledge of security system installation techniques, equipment and tools
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards (PD 6662/EN 50131, BS EN 62676)
- Fire alarm experience would be brilliant — we're an electrical, fire & security company, so anyone who can work across fire and security is gold dust to us and will be recognised for it
- Full UK driving licence and reliable transport (Essential)
- Willingness to work away from home when required (see above — enhanced pay, hotel and food covered)
- Successful completion of BS 7858 security screening and a DBS check is a condition of the role — any offer is made subject to passing this vetting, and if it isn't passed, employment with us cannot continue
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- A positive attitude and the ability to self-motivate
- Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional evenings/weekends and the call-out rota
- Desirable: IPAF, CSCS/ECS, FIA units, City & Guilds/Level 3 in Electronic Security, manufacturer training (Paxton, Texecom, Pyronix, Hikvision, Videx etc.)
