South Molton Taxi Service – North Devon
We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working driver to join our small, well-established taxi service based in South Molton.
This is a genuinely varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll meet all sorts of people, cover a wide range of journeys, and enjoy the independence that comes with being out on the road rather than stuck behind a desk.
We provide the vehicle, insurance, and support — you provide the work ethic, reliability, and professionalism.
What We Offer
- Full-time employed position
- Daytime working hours Monday to Friday
- Every other Saturday off
- Alternating Tuesday or Thursday off each week
- Hourly pay regardless of how many jobs are completed
- Holiday pay and pension package
- Vehicle and all insurances provided
- Occasional requests to help cover pre-booked work outside normal daytime hours

Important – Licensing Process
We want to be upfront: becoming a licensed taxi driver is not a quick or simple process.
Before starting work, drivers must complete:
- BTEC qualification
- Driving assessment
- Medical examination
- Basic North Devon local knowledge test
The good news is that all training and licensing costs are fully funded by the company.
However, because of the investment involved, there is a scaled repayment agreement if you leave the company within two years.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently
- Local knowledge of North Devon helpful but not essential
