Full job description

Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and technically capable Sales Engineer with experience in the motor control systems industry to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering excellent technical sales support from initial enquiry through to after-sales care.

You will play a key role in expanding our customer base while working closely with engineering and operations teams to provide tailored motor control solutions to industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and secure new business opportunities within industrial and commercial sectors
Identify and target potential customers for motor control systems and related solutions
Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships
Occasional sales visits may be required
Prepare and issue technical quotations and proposals
Manage customer interactions and sales pipeline using CRM software
Follow up quotations and convert opportunities into sales
Provide professional after-sales support and customer care
Liaise with internal engineering and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met
Attend sales meetings to discuss prospects and targets
Maintain accurate records of customer activity, forecasts, and sales performance

Requirements

Previous experience in a Sales Engineer or Technical Sales role
Proven background within the motor control systems industry
Strong understanding of motor starters, drives, control panels, switchgear, or related electrical systems
Experience using CRM systems to manage customer accounts and opportunities
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated with strong organisational skills
Full UK driving licence preferred

Desirable Skills

Existing industry contacts or customer network
Experience quoting electrical or control system projects
