Allied Pharmacies Group | Salford, Greater Manchester (with one day per week at our St Helens HQ)
About Us
Allied Pharmacies isn't your average pharmacy chain — we're one of the UK's fastest-growing healthcare businesses, and we're just getting started. What began as a small group has exploded into a network of over 200 branches across England and Wales, including the landmark acquisition of 129 Jhoots Pharmacy sites in late 2025. Our turnover has surged past £128 million, we delivered over 1.9 million Pharmacy First consultations last year, and we've got serious plans for what comes next.
We're built on a partnership model — working alongside local pharmacists who know their communities — and we're investing heavily in digital transformation, clinical services, and the people who make it all happen. That's where you come in.
The Role
We're looking for a sharp, ambitious graduate to join our People team as an HR Assistant. This isn't a "sit quietly and file paperwork" kind of role. You'll be right in the thick of it — supporting a workforce of over 2,000 people across 200+ branches during one of the most exciting growth phases in UK pharmacy.
You'll be based at our Salford office day-to-day, with one day per week at our St Helens head office for training and development alongside our senior team.
What you'll be doing:
Being the go-to person for HR queries across the business — by phone, email, and in person
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations across a rapidly growing network
Getting hands-on with HR systems, data, and reporting
Helping shape processes that actually work at scale — not just ticking boxes
Learning every corner of HR in a business that's acquiring, integrating, and building constantly
What we're looking for:
A recent graduate (any discipline — we care more about attitude than your degree subject)
Genuinely curious, organised, and not afraid to pick up the phone
Confident with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and doesn't need hand-holding
A team player with a sense of humour — we work hard but we don't take ourselves too seriously
HR or people-related experience is a bonus, pharmacy experience even more so — but neither is essential
What's in it for you:
A front-row seat to how a major acquisition-led business scales its people operations
Real development — not vague promises. You'll be mentored and given genuine responsibility from day one
The chance to grow your career as we grow. We've gone from 45 to 200+ pharmacies — imagine where we'll be in two years and where you could be with us
On-site parking
A friendly, down-to-earth team that actually enjoys coming to work
