Aplates is a premium automotive supplier in the UK motor industry, widely recognised for producing elite-tier 3D and 4D registration plates. We have officially joined forces with our sister brand to launch PlatePlus, a patented, game-changing number plate frame and badge system that unlocks limitless customisation options for vehicles. As we scale up production for this innovative product line, we are looking for a meticulous designer to prepare our extensive range of digital badge and custom frame templates for immediate physical manufacturing. We are looking for a precise and efficient designer to join us immediately for a short-term contract to prepare our product range for production.
What You’ll Do
As our Artwork & Pre-Print Designer, you will take existing product templates and ensure they are 100% accurate, aligned, and ready for physical production. Your main duties will include:
- Template Modification: Adjusting and modifying existing templates for various products to a print-ready stage.
- Print Preparation: Centralising artwork artwork files and flipping designs for double-sided/reverse printing where required.
- Collaboration: Working closely with our print operator to check, tweak, and perfect physical print alignment and finishes.
- File Management: Designing and implementing a simple, logical file-naming and indexing system so operators can easily pull files for printing and laser cutting.
What We’re Looking For
- Expert Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is essential for this role.
- Pre-Print Experience: Proven experience preparing artwork for physical print production, including bleed, alignment, and layering.
- Laser Cutting Knowledge: Understanding of how to structure files with vector paths specifically for laser cutter machines.
- Organisation: Strong file-management skills to build an efficient, clean filing framework from scratch.
- Availability: Must be available for an immediate start and able to commute to our Westbury office for collaborative machine checks.

Pay: £24,420.00-£51,843.17 per year
