Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health care to patients alongside our Counsellor and ANP, supporting their recovery journey, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives within a supportive and professional environment.

Duties

Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments and develop personalised care plans tailored to individual needs.
Administer medication and monitor patients’ responses, ensuring safety and efficacy.
Provide emotional support and therapeutic interventions to promote mental well-being.
Collaborate with doctors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress, treatments, and interventions.
Supervise and mentor junior staff and students, fostering a positive learning environment.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding protocols, and confidentiality standards.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress and adjust care strategies accordingly.

Skills

Proven experience in patient care within a mental health setting.
Strong knowledge of human anatomy relevant to mental health nursing practices.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Compassionate approach with a commitment to patient-centred care.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team under pressure.
Organised with strong attention to detail in record keeping and documentation.
