We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our small, rural dispensing practice located at Ballantrae and Barrhill in South Ayrshire. The successful applicant will be based at Ballantrae Surgery and may also be asked to work at our branch surgery at Barrhill.
Excellent communication skills are essential as well as the ability to work well on your own or as part of a team, attention to detail and good computer skills. Previous work experience of working in a GP Practice or Dispensary would be preferable however not essential as full training will be given. Please note you will also be required to undertake NVQ Level 2 Course for Dispensing Assistants.
Duties will include -
- Carry out dispensing duties under the supervision of the Dispensary Manager
- Ensure all prescriptions are received, checked and dispensed accurately and in a timely manner
- Respond appropriately to patient’s needs, politely and efficiently, by asking appropriate questions
- To monitor stock levels and adapt orders appropriately
The part time permanent post is for 20 hours per week; flexibility is essential as additional hours will be required to cover holiday leave and sick leave.
